This year marks a significant milestone for Daniel Jakimovski, who has officially celebrated 10 years with Westar Trucks. His journey is one of growth, adaptability and a willingness to step outside his comfort zone, building a diverse career across both technical and sales roles.
Daniel joined Westar in late December 2015 as a qualified auto electrician after completing his apprenticeship. Moving into a dealership environment proved to be a pivotal moment in his career. It exposed him to a broader range of opportunities and pathways that extended well beyond the tools and trade, helping shape the direction of his long-term professional development.
Over the past decade, Daniel’s role has evolved significantly. He began his career in the workshop before transitioning into a sales cadet position, then progressing to Retail Sales Consultant and later into Fleet and Government Sales. Most recently, Daniel relocated to Campbellfield to take on the role of Sales Supervisor. Reflecting on his journey, he credits Westar for consistently providing opportunities for growth, development and continuous learning along the way.
The transition from the workshop into a sales-focused career proved to be Daniel’s biggest learning curve. While his technical background provided a strong foundation, adapting to sales required a new skill set and mindset. Even today, Daniel says he continues to learn and develop every day, embracing the ongoing challenges that come with the role.
Among his many achievements, Daniel is particularly proud of winning Isuzu Team Elite Awards over the years, which he describes as an incredible accomplishment and a standout highlight of his career.
When asked about who has had the biggest impact on his journey, Daniel finds it hard to single out one person at Westar. He acknowledges the many great people he has worked with over the years, each of whom has contributed to his growth and shared valuable lessons along the way.
What Daniel enjoys most about working at Westar is the culture. He describes the business as a place where people are always willing to help one another and treat each other with respect, creating an environment that genuinely feels like one big family.
Outside of work, Daniel enjoys spending time with family and friends, keeping active at the gym, tackling projects around the house and travelling whenever he gets the chance.
Daniel’s 10-year milestone shows his commitment and passion for growth. Westar Trucks would like to congratulate Daniel on an outstanding decade with us and looks forward to seeing what the next chapter holds.
